**Workshop Participant comments from 2008 **
I just wanted to thank you again for all of the information that you shared with us in class. I have been trying to find someone who would give me insight into the real world of professional photography. Your class was exactly what I was looking for. The workbook is very good - I will have to work my way through it. I hope to take some more of your classes or go to some of your workshops very soon. Thanks again for info.
Stan.... 2008 / Business of Photography
Thanks again...I very much enjoyed my two days of photographic immersion. You are so incredibly knowledgeable. One of my prior co- workers asked how your seminar was. I told her to imagine my explaining our business in two days. ..ha! She quickly understood. The amount of information to process is mammoth, but then...I have always known that. I want to do this...thank you for helping get me started. And...just for the record...I have travelled too!! HA! Hope to see you again soon in another workshop or other photographic arena.
Judy.... 2008 / Business of Photography
First, let me start by saying that the seminar over the weekend was chock full o' information I had never even considered as becoming a professional photographer. Your insight into the business and your completely open and honest explanation was absolutely well receipted and appreciated by those in the class. It was a truly enjoyable session and your no-non-sense approach to teaching, which is much like my approach, was refreshing, engaging, and all around FUN! I feel quite honored and lucky to have met such a well-respected and successful professional as yourself. I do look forward to fostering a closer personal and professional relationship with you.
Heather .... 2008 / Business of Photography
I wanted to thank you for an absolutely brilliant seminar this weekend. I have a great appreciation and respect for an instructor that comes to class with a well-defined outline of topics to cover. And to have the instructor follow that outline with such ease definitely attests to the vast expertise you have. I also appreciate your openness to sharing resources. This is one of the best seminars I have attended and certainly the one that I have gained the most information from. I still cannot believe how much information you covered in two days.

LITTLE ST. SIMON'S ISLAND* - WEEKEND WORKSHOP
Photo Field Trip - Next Workshop SPRING 2010
Little St. Simon's Island* (Friday afternoon to Sunday mid-day)
3 days, 2 nights, accommodations include: a 2 night stay at one of the 2 charming lodges on Little St. Simons Island, all meals: incorporating regional cuisine, rich in local ingredients and southern hospitality -prepared by the islands executive chef and staff, including picnic lunches for all the photo outings. Transportation by ferry from St. Simons to the island is also included. The island may be accessed on Friday by a ferry trip, at 12:30pm (exact time tba). The group will have the afternoon to photographically explore several sites on the island.
With an amazing amount of wildlife, Little St. Simons is a photographer’s paradise. In the course of a day one can see and photograph dolphins, sea turtles, alligators, armadillos, and a host of migrating and resident shore birds including royal terns, brown pelicans, American oyster catchers and black-necked stilts just to name a few. Over 280 different species of birds can be seen on the island throughout the year; more than 60 of which are found right on the beaches; certain species, even very rare ones like the red knot, can be seen in large groups of up to 200 or more. Bald eagles make their home here, as do great egrets and black skimmers.
The island is also a superb place to photograph a variety of pristine coastal environment types, including both salt and fresh water marshes, tidal creeks, hammocks, dune meadows, beaches, river estuaries, and what is probably the most mysterious and beautiful upland maritime forest on the east coast. And with our resident naturalists to guide us, this will prove to be a most personal and intimate photographic safari on one of Georgia’s most natural and magnificent barrier islands.
2 photography instructors, Marc Del Santro noted for his experience in outdoor, landscape and wildlife photography, and with Judith Pishnery noted for her commercial and fine art photography experience, along with extensive teaching experience in camera & technical controls and digital techniques using Photoshop, Bridge & Lightroom. In the field instruction, along with personalized attention are a unique feature of this workshop.
This workshop requires a minimum of 4 participants and no more than 12 participants.
*Little St.Simon's Island is home to an abundance of wildlife and a destination for migratory birds. Due to the nature of these animals, we cannot gaurantee sightings of any specific birds or wildlife.
Additional information will be provided after registration. Please let us know if you have any questions.
